Your journey begins with a scenic drive from Dehradun to Sankri, a quaint village nestled in the Uttarkashi district. The 8–10 hour drive takes you through winding mountain roads, pine forests, and riverside views along the Yamuna and Tons rivers. Upon reaching Sankri, you’ll settle into a cozy guesthouse and prepare for the upcoming adventure.

The trek officially starts today. You’ll hike through dense pine and oak forests, spotting snow patches (in winter) and hearing the sounds of Himalayan birds. After 4–5 hours of trekking, you’ll reach Juda Ka Talab—a frozen lake surrounded by alpine trees. It’s a magical campsite, especially under a starlit sky.

Today’s trail gradually ascends to the base camp. As you gain altitude, the forests give way to open meadows offering stunning views of snow-clad peaks. By afternoon, you’ll reach the base camp, where you can relax, soak in the panoramic views, and prepare for the summit push the next day.

The most thrilling day of the trek begins early—around 3 AM—to reach the summit by sunrise. As the sun rises over the mighty Himalayas, you’ll be rewarded with breathtaking 360° views of peaks like Swargarohini, Black Peak, and Bandarpoonch. After celebrating at the top, descend back to base camp, have lunch, and continue your descent to Sankri.

After breakfast, you’ll drive back to Dehradun, marking the end of this incredible journey. With unforgettable memories, new friendships, and a heart full of mountain magic, you’ll carry the spirit of Kedarkantha long after the trek ends.
